Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!It's not secret that I don't care for Halloween, but Vance started figuring out what it was all about this year and when he found out our ward was doing a carnival and trunk-or-treat for Halloween he started to constantly bring it up.  By Wednesday when he was still bringing it up I decided we better dress them up and participate in the festivities this year.  Grandma Jeppson had made the boys cute Mario, Luigi, and Wario hats so we decided it would be fun to use them for their Halloween costumes.

I think they are the cutest little Nintendo characters ever! The kids had a great time and they now have more candy than they know what to do with!

My Second Helper

Tanner wanted to help feed Porter tonight.  It reminds me of when Vance used to ask to help feed him.  :)

P.S. Porter is annoyingly close to crawling.  It's almost painful to watch!

Posing

Put the camera in front of my 7 month old baby and he will look at the camera each and every time.
Put the camera in front of my 3 year old and he will look away and/or refuse to smile.

Guess Porter doesn't feel the need to show his independence like Tanner does... YET anyway!

Pumpkins

The boys got pumpkins from Grandpa and Grandma Porter's Pumpkin Patch (their garden) a couple of weeks ago and ever since the boys have been wanting to decorate them so I got preschool activities planned out for pumpkins and that's what we've been doing the past two days.  You can see what we've done at Mommy's Little Helper.  We decided to paint pumpkins this year.
Vance and Tanner had a blast doing this.  We still have two unpainted pumpkins that I'm sure they will gladly paint.
I convinced Vance to stick his hand in a pumpkin this year, but it was pretty short-lived and he opted for get the seeds out with a spoon.  Tanner wanted nothing to do with this.  Silly kids!
Here's Porter and his pumpkin.  He's so cute and as it turns out "Porter's Pumpkin" is fun to say.  You just tried saying it, didn't you?
I've noticed that white pumpkins have been in lately so I decided to paint one white and draw on some spiders (not free-hand mind you, I have no drawing ablities).

Guess What

Porter is seven months old today!  Check out how excited he is about it.
So in celebration of the past seven months here are a few pictures of the P-man and his brothers.
Porter enjoys all the attention Vance and Tanner give him!
Vance decided to get behind the camera and get these two to smile for the camera.
Porter is a sweet boy.  He is growing and learning new things each day.  It's fun to watch.

Porter and Stephen

Porter loves to grab especially at people's hair and faces.  Stephen's hair is short enough that he can grab all he wants and it really doesn't matter.  One benefit to having Stephen be unemployed is that Porter gets to know him  better than the other two boys did when their were babies, especially Tanner.  Porter loves his Daddy.

Picture Time

We had a nice Conference weekend at my parent's house.  Here are some pictures from Saturday evening and then some I took this afternoon.
My mom found a frog in their sandbox and caught it, but the boys didn't want anything to do with it until we'd let it go and it had hidden itself out of sight.  At that point, Vance begged to see the frog, go figure.
The frog was deep in the leaves against the wall and that is as close as Vance would get.
Vance tried his hand at tennis.
My mom was watering plants and Tanner wanted to get wet so she would just squirt the top of his head.  Vance got in on the action once, and he was good.
Tanner stepped behind Vance while my mom was squirting Vance's head so he got pretty soaked.  He loved it.  I can't tell you how many times I told him to get his mouth off the hose after we'd turned the water off.
And we need a picture of Porter just because he is so dang cute!
I just realized the boys were wearing shorts on Saturday and today they are wearing pants and long sleeved shirts.  It really warmed up too much for long sleeves but it was cool this morning.  I guess fall must be here.
The best pictures I get of Vance is when he is just starting to laugh.  Cute smile.
Tanner thinks he either needs to be silly if I pull out the camera or run away and ignore me.

Origami Eagles

Vance and Tanner love it when Stephen folds them things that they can play with.  I made him fold some nesting blocks to do some preschool stuff with and he also folded these eagles for them which the boys have had a blast playing with.
