Update

My two and a half weeks of being spoiled has come to an end.  My parents took turns helping me out with the boys the week after Porter was born and this past week my in-laws have been here helping out.  I really appreciated all of them help.   Porter is growing like a little weed.  He weighed 10 pounds 5 ounces at the dr. when he was two weeks old.  My babies gain weight fast and he started out big to begin with anyway.  He is a sweetie.  On a more trying note, Stephen lost his job on Thursday.  His manager told him they were making changes and he wasn't a part of them, which is basically giving him no reason at all.  Stephen has known for a while though that being a service writer just isn't what he wants to do because he wants a job that he likes and not just tolerates (at best) and I want him to have a job where he isn't overworked and underappreciated.  Anyway, we are tying to figure out what to do next.  Obviously we need a source of income, but Stephen is also trying to figure out what career path to take.  We are opening to hearing suggestions, by the way.  Prayers are welcomed.  Being unemployed is always a hard thing especially with a new baby and two other little boys to care for, but I think in the long run this will be a good thing.

My Men

I'm a little outnumbered, but I don't care because I love my men!

One Week Old

Porter is a week old already!   We love him so much.  He is so precious and adds so much to our family.  He has been a really good baby.  He is quite the chub still.   Vance loves to hold Porter and pat his head.  Tanner is becoming more curious.  He'll ask, "What is Porter doing?"

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Well, they are all in the picture together.

Well, he wasn't 15 pounds, thankfully!

Porter Andrew Jeppson made his way into the world via C-Section on March 11, 2010 at 3:40 pm.  (Yes, I know this post is over due)  I went in to the hospital Tuesday evening so they could induce labor Wednesday morning.  I spent Wednesday making no progression towards having this silly little boy.  They wanted to send me home and have me come back Monday to try again, but I persuaded them (yes, through tears) to try again the next day and so they did.  Well, at we had more of the same going on Thursday (meaning nothing) however Porter's heart rate was not doing good things anymore which left us with one option left, C-Section.  I've never had one nor did I ever want one, but at that point to say that I was more than ready for Porter to come is an understatement so we got things all ready and I had a C-section.  I've heard lots of women who have done both ways and prefer a c-section, I'm not sold on that.  Although, there are some benefits to one, I'd stick to the old natural way.  The doctor told me that there was just no way this baby was going to fit through my pelvic area.  Hmm.... yep, that's why I wanted to be induced a week and a half before that point... For some reason there was some confusion on his official weight.  Stephen was standing right there when they told him an official weight of 9 lbs 11 oz, but on all of his records and what not it says his official weight is 9 pounds 9 ounces, so I guess that's what it is folks.  He was 20 inches long.  He is a little sweetie.  He definitely looks like he belongs in our family.  Vance loves being a big brother again.  It's harder on Tanner, but he is adjusting okay to.  Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well wishes.

My Fear

Okay, so I don't think Porter will actually come out that big, but if he doesn't come out soon he is going to be quite the big boy.

Funny Vance

Last night Vance was saying his prayers before bed and he was talking really fast so I tried to interupt him to tell him to slow down.  He turned to me and indignantly said, "I AM TALKING TO JESUS CHRIST!"  Pardon me...Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, he was close.  Vance has been praying for Porter to come so much that Tanner started praying for that too.
He has some gospel oriented things down pat.  He knows that Jesus Christ loves him.  He also knows that Mom and Dad got married in the temple.  He doesn't realize that you do other things besides get married in the temple, yet though.  He always talks about Mom and Dad going to the temple and getting married.  That only happened the one time.  Anyway,  I thought my little story from last night was too cute not to share.

Happenings in my family...

First off my brother, Eric is engaged!  Yay!  We are super excited for him and Tami.  Don't they look so cute together?  They are getting married this summer.  Happy and fun times.
My sister Holly's poor little baby has RSV and had to be hospitalized.  It makes my heart feel so sad, but she's getting some color and looking a little better so hopefully she'll be able to go home soon.
I realize I am technically two weeks out from having my baby, but I really was really hoping to add to the family excitement this weekend.  No luck.  I've had plenty of contractions, but they obviously haven't turned into anything.  I saw my dr. today.  I haven't progressed far enough in his eyes to induce so we are waiting it out longer.  He is going to see me again on Friday (good news).  Praying that my body has progressed enough that the doctor might consider inducing, but more ideally I'm hoping my water breaks or I go into labor before then.  Apparently my doctor doesn't seem to care as much as I do that I could give birth to a 10 pound baby if we aren't proactive about things.  Hello, I'm 5'1" and when I'm not pregnant weigh around 120 pounds and to top it off I have back problems.  Yep, a bit concerned on my end.
