Six months...

I really haven't typed much on here lately, just posted pictures.  It has been six months now since Stephen became unemployed.  It has been an interesting six months.  I believe whole-heartily that Stephen needed to lose his job in order to force him to make a change in his career.  He knew long before six months ago that he no longer wanted to be in the Automotive Industry, but he didn't know what he wanted to do nor did he have time to really think about it either so in some ways this has been a  blessing.  It's also given the boys more time to spend with their father which has been nice for every one.  Stephen is going to get a degree in Information Technology which I think will work out well for him and our family.  We are still looking for employment as he goes to school.  He'd prefer something that actually has to do with computers, but considering he is only at the beginning of schooling and has no experience in it that makes things difficult.

Honestly, I wish he could make a career out of doing origami because he could do that all day long.  Isn't it lovely for people who actually do what they love to do every single day of their lives and make money doing it?

As for the boys and I, we stay busy doing preschool three times a week and taking care of household chores and what not.  The boys are growing and learning things literally every day.  It is so fun to watch.  I am told often from older women that their favorite time of being a mother was while they were young so I am trying to soak it all in and not stress when everything isn't the way I think it needs to be all the time.  I wish I could write down or capture on film every little thing the boys do and say that make me laugh or happy, but that's impossible.  They are such wonderful blessings in my life.

I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude towards my Heavenly Father.  I have been blessed with so much including three wonderful little children to raise with a great husband.  I also feel so blessed that Heavenly Father has watched over us and cared for us.  I know it is through His love and the opportunity we have been given to pay tithing that we have been able to survive financially  through this time in our lives.  It never ceases to amaze me that even when I just a little to do what is right Heavenly Father blessings me so much, much more than I'll ever deserve.

Here's some pictures of my growing boys!
Tanner and I on his birthday!

Porter is always willing to smile for the camera!

Vance loves Tanner's dinosaurs as much as Tanner does!

Happy Birthday Tanner!

It's Tanner's third birthday!  I made a video of pictures from the last year.  We were mean parents and made him to go the doctor on his birthday, but he didn't have to get shots so I don't think it was that bad.  The doctor said that Tanner was a great patient.  He's had a little practice because of his hip (thankfully not too much practice).  He was a little nervous.  I think mainly because he watched Porter get shots last week.  Anyway, he is doing great.  He weights 37 pounds (90%) and is 38 inches tall (62%).  We just love having Tanner in our family he is a wonderful boy and let's face it he can be quite entertaining with his facial expressions and his speech skills.

Birthday Party

Tanner turns 3 on Monday, but it worked out better to celebrate on Saturday so that's what we did.  We had a Dinosaur Birthday Party.  I made a dino cake, put up a few decorations, and we had Tanner's favorite, dinosaur chicken nuggets.
Tanner did NOT like us singing to him. He covered his eyes then ran to Grandma for comfort.  Stephen did convince him to blow out his candles, kind of...
Three years old and he is having he is getting fed like a baby. :)
We made Vance stay back while Tanner opened gifts, but he jumped right in to play with them!

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate. I think Tanner had a good time.

Day of Rest

Church wore us out today.  Vance was playing with my hair which apparently put us both out and Tanner was a zombie during church, actually both he and Vance were.  If they would sleep pass 6 in the morning that would help.  Oh, for the record that Mt. Dew is not mine...

Yard Sale and Porter is old!

Well, I got brave (or crazy) and decided to have  a yard sale since I've been going through all  of my stuff and trying to get rid of things.  My parents brought up a bunch of stuff for us to sale to and it was worth all the hard work.  Yay!  Whenever I've seen my neighbors have yard sales they've always gotten a lot of traffic so I was hoping that would be the case for us to and it was.  We had told Vance all week that we'd be having a yard sale and he was so excited this morning you'd think it was Christmas.  Here he is at 6 am before we even got most of our stuff set out.  At one point yesterday he said, "I think I'm going to be sad."  when he saw that we were selling some of his toys (that he doesn't play with anymore).  But that was as upset as he got over it and Tanner could have caredless.  I don't think he would have cared if we'd sold any of his stuff except Roary (who is a family member and we would never sale).  :)
Today is also Porter's six month old mark!  He is looking and acting like an older baby to me all of a sudden.  It is fun, but still it makes me a little sad because they just grow up so fast!

Anyway, I thought it'd be fun to show off each of the boys at six months old since I took their picture in the same onesie.  Do you think they look like brothers? I do.

Stephen's Origami Blog

If you haven't noticed on facebook, Stephen actually posted on his origami blog!  Yay.  I give him a hard time about it every once in a while.  Looks like it's finally paying off.  Anyway, check it out.  He is very talented.  Check it out at Stephen's Origami Blog

Cheerios

I video taped Porter eating a cheerio the other day.  It just makes me laugh because he acts like it is the nastiest thing in the entire world.
