Porter had his four month check up today (you know, because he's closer to five months than four). He is doing well. He weighs 22 lbs 7 oz (99.8%) and is 26 1/2 inches long (85%). As we all know he is huge and very cute! He did a good job with his visit. He smiled at the nurse and the doctor plenty. He had to do one oral immunization and two shots. :( He wanted nothing to do with drinking the oral one. He made quite a face and then tried to keep his mouth closed when he realized it wasn't his normal food. He only cried when the nurse intially poked him and was over it after a minute. Too bad those shots make babies tired and fussy the next day or two afterwards. Anyway, he actually weighs less than Vance did at this age (one pound less). I guess that's where the .1% comes in. Haha. He weighs about 3 pounds more than Tanner did at the same age. If I had a small baby like my niece I just wouldn't know what to do with him/her.

Just some pictures
Just some pictures of the boys. I love it when my children actually play with the toys they have and it's even nicer when they do it together without fighting.
If you feel like eating thisbaby, you aren't alone. He just looks so edible!

The best picture ever!
Isn't this the greatest picture you have ever seen? Stephen probably won't be excited that I posted this picture, but I don't care because to me this picture represents so much. Love, companionship, work... just to name a few things. Do you want to know what I was doing while Stephen weeding away? I was lounging in a camp chair playing with our baby (and sneaking a picture of my wonderful husband). Weeding is just one of the many things that Stephen does around here and I am so grateful for it. He faithfully takes care of the trash and does the dishes every night too. He always gives the oldest two boys their baths. Oh, there are countless things he does to help me out and I am so appreciative of it all. I am the smartest woman in the world for picking him to be my eternal companion. I am so blessed.

Crazy Sleeper
I'm really glad that Tanner never got into the habit of sleeping in our bed because the kid is all over the place!

Vance and Blue's Clues
We have a few dvds that have episodes of Blue's Clues on them. The boys enjoy them, especially Vance. Today he was watching an episode where Blue goes to school so he put on his backpack and got his "handy-dandy notebook" and played along. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a couple of pictures.
The kid is a better artist than I am. How sad for me, huh? Sometimes it hits me that Vance isn't a baby or a toddler anymore (duh, I know). He's a kid. Before I know it he'll be going to school and I will really be left wondering where the time has gone.

4 Months old
Porter came into this world four months ago today! Time flies, but at the same time it's hard to remember what life was like before he was here. Porter is working on sitting up all by himself and continues to grow, grow, grow! Does anyone else see some resemblance between Porter and Elder Holland?
Maybe you all think I am crazy now, but I think they have the similar cheeks. :) Hopefully, Porter will go up to be a great man like Elder Holland. We sure love Porter!

Change
I always hear how change can be a good thing. Change is scary and unknown. I don't like it, but I realize that it helps us grown. With all the changes that have been unfolding in our lives the last few months I decided a new blog design should be one of them as well. :)

Potty Training Tanner
I am envious when I hear stories about children who randomly say they don't want to wear diapers anymore and boom they are off and running with underwear. I find potty training to be rather challenging. I had my mind set to potty train Tanner in January, but after a day and a half of tears on both our parts and killing my pregnant body I gave up. So now that we've had a chance to adjust to a new baby and been to Utah for Eric's wedding I knew it was time. I actually think we could have been successful a few months ago, but I, personally wasn't ready to do it yet. Anyway, I started working with Tanner on Wednesday and he is doing pretty well. Today he only had one accident. I don't mess around with pull-ups or anything like that. Once I put my kid in underwear that's all they wear. I am real excited to be back to one kid in diapers again! Now we just need to get past the new potty training phase where you worry about taking your kid out in public and to nursery and stuff. Anyway, that is the big event going on in our lives.
P.S. Stephen is back in school pursing a degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in Networking. I don't think I've mentioned that before.
